The eCommerce Association – Georgia regularly holds meetings with its member companies to discuss the challenges and achievements of the e-commerce sector, technological developments, and key issues related to the industry’s growth.


As part of this initiative, the Association held its latest working meeting with Glovo. The meeting was productive, with both sides discussing the opportunities and challenges surrounding the development of e-commerce and digital services in Georgia.


Particular attention was paid to strengthening close cooperation, identifying common challenges within the sector, and exploring areas where collaboration between the private sector and the industry association can create additional value.


Glovo – A Global Technology Platform

Glovo is part of Delivery Hero Group, one of the world’s leading local delivery platforms. The company’s mission is to create the largest marketplace in the city, giving users access to everything they need within minutes.


Glovo operates in 22 countries across Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. The company is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. Its parent company, Delivery Hero, has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017 and is included in the MDAX stock index.


In Georgia, Glovo has established itself as one of the country’s key digital platforms and plays an active role in the development of the local market. Its operations extend beyond food delivery to include a wide range of products and services, contributing to the expansion of Georgia’s digital commerce ecosystem.


Collaboration for the Development of E-Commerce

The meeting also highlighted new opportunities for collaboration and areas where joint efforts could contribute to the development of the e-commerce sector.
